Job Opportunity: Emergency Department RN - Nights

Location: St Johnsbury, Vermont

Job Description

• Provide direct care in a fast-paced Emergency Department (ED) setting.
• Evaluate patient outcomes and consult with other specialties as needed.
• Adjust nursing care processes to ensure optimal patient care.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate medical and nursing management.
• Work effectively under pressure in a busy rural ED with nine beds and over 15,000 patients annually.
• Familiarity with Meditech electronic health record system or ability to learn quickly is required.

Required Qualifications

• Current Vermont RN license or compact multi-state RN license.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
• Minimum 3 years of Emergency Room nursing experience required.
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) preferred but not required.

Additional Information

• Credentialing must be completed and uploaded at least five business days before the start date to avoid delays.
• The facility is a rural critical access hospital with no public transportation; the closest airport is approximately 2 hours away.
• Travelers will start on Wednesdays. During orientation week, hours may be adjusted due to midweek start.
