Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (ER) - Travel/Contract
Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Charge Nurse for Emergency Room (ER) Nights
- First-time travel nurses accepted
- Option to work 36 or 48 hours per week
- Weekends required
- Float required
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- Other certifications may be required as applicable (e.g., NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, MAB, NIH Stroke Certification, CPI)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico
- Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
- ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- PALS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- I9 verification
- Driver’s License/State ID
- E-Verify
- 7-year background check (including SS trace, county searches, nationwide, sex offender, education verification)
- Fingerprinting onsite during orientation (New Mexico placements only)
- Education verification (highest level)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start (annual renewal required)
- Immunizations and titers:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
- Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination)
- Varicella (positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
- Annual skills checklist and competency exams as applicable
- Core HIPAA and safety training
Additional Notes
- Candidates must be prepared to work weekends and float as needed
- Fingerprinting clearance required before working on unit; orientation and EPIC training allowed pending clearance
- Clear headshot photo required for badge
- References and employment history verification required internally but not mandatory for candidate clearance
