Job Opportunity: CCU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Columbia, South Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Strong cardiac ICU experience required, typically from CCU or CVICU.
- Experience with advanced cardiac devices and cardiac diagnoses such as LVAD, Impella, IABP, TVP.
- Care for cardiac/medical intensive care patients and some step-down overflow.
- Skills needed: management of Impella, IABP, ventilators, CRRT, invasive lines, hemodynamic monitoring.
- Required competencies include: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Certification, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, post-cardiac surgery care (not directly from OR), pre/post cardiac catheterization/intervention, and sheath removal.
- Patient ratio experience: 2:1.
- Shift: 3 shifts of 12 hours each.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Minimum of 1 year of CVICU experience, with CVICU experience within the last year.
- Strong cardiac ICU experience including CCU (Coronary Care Unit) experience.
- Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
- Experience interpreting and managing dysrhythmias.
- Experience with sheath removal.
