Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Technologist (Travel/Contract)

Location: Charlottesville, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

  • Support imaging in the Operating Room (OR) during vascular Interventional Radiology (IR) procedures.
  • This role is for a technologist, not a nurse.
  • Work schedule: 8-hour days, 07:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with rotating call every 4th week.
  • Must comply with a 50-mile radius travel rule.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Virginia
  • Minimum of 1 year of Interventional Radiology Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Additional Requirements & Compliance

  • Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, education verification, and others as per facility policy.
  • Drug screening: 10-panel including marijuana and fentanyl, within 2 months of start and updated annually.
  • Health documents: Physical exam, immunizations (Tdap, MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B), TB testing (2-step PPD or Qgold), flu vaccination (seasonal), and others as required.
  • Facility-specific documents and compliance forms must be completed prior to start.
  • Fingerprinting required for Behavioral Health candidates only (not applicable here).
  • Pass/Fail testing and additional certifications are generally not required for this technologist role unless specified by unit.

Work Environment & Notes

  • Imaging support in a high-acuity OR setting focused on vascular IR procedures.
  • Rotating call every 4th week.
  • 50-mile radius travel rule applies.

This position is ideal for a certified radiology technologist with ARRT and BLS certifications, licensed or eligible for licensure in Virginia, seeking a 13-week travel assignment in interventional radiology.
