Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: Flagstaff, Arizona
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 26 weeks (approximately 6 months)
Position Details
- Specialty: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
- Shift: 3 shifts of 12 hours (12:00 PM - 12:30 AM, midshift)
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
- Weekend Requirement: As needed, weekend rotation possible
- On Call: No

- Blocked Scheduling: Considered by unit manager

- Altitude Consideration: Facility is at 7000' elevation; candidates must be able to meet physical demands at this altitude
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Arizona
- Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA approved
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA approved
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA approved
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - AAP approved

Additional Requirements & Compliance
- Must pass a 7-year background check within 30 days of start
- Drug testing (10-panel) within 30 days of start and updated annually
- Physical exam within 1 year confirming ability to perform essential job functions
- Fit mask test (N95) within 1 year and updated annually; PAPR not accepted except in rare cases
- Immunizations and/or proof of immunity required for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (preferred within last 10 years or declination)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 MMR vaccines)
- Hepatitis B (positive titer, 3-dose series, or declination)
- Varicella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year and updated annually
- COVID vaccination series or declination with facility-specific form
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination with mask-wearing requirement if declined
- Completion of facility-specific job description and policies prior to start
- Two professional references required (one from most recent employer within 1 year)
- Employment application covering last 3 years with documented gaps if any
Notes
- Unit manager approval required for certain restrictions
- Candidates must complete all required documentation and competency exams prior to start
- Candidates must adhere to facility policies on professional attire, confidentiality, substance abuse screening, and patient safety standards
This position is ideal for a Registered Respiratory Therapist with at least 1 year of experience, comfortable working at high altitude, and willing to commit to a 6-month travel contract in a Level I trauma teaching hospital setting.
