Job Opportunity: MS/Tele Float Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Clinton, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Position: MS/Tele Float RN Days
• Shift: 3 shifts of 12 hours (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
• Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week period
• No on-call required
• Float within skillset/acuity required
• Community hospital experience required

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Maryland
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience, with at least 1 year of recent experience within the last year
• Float experience within skillset/acuity required
• One completed travel assignment
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required for MS/Tele units

Competency Requirements

• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (Relias Dysrhythmia: Basics A) must be completed within 1 year of start and updated annually
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required within 3 years of start (minimum 80% score)
• Color Blind Testing (online or in-person) required
• General Competency Exam required within 3 years of start (minimum 80% score)

Experience & References

• 2 years of recent RN experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Prior travel experience required
• Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years

Health & Compliance Requirements

• Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within the last year (or as per history)
• Required immunizations or titers:

  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or signed declination)
  • Tdap vaccine within last 10 years preferred
• Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
• N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start and updated annually (not required for Sterile Processing Tech)

Background & Documentation

• Criminal background check within 90 days including all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
• Education verification of highest degree required for position
• Employment application with 7 years of work history (no gaps)
• Skills checklist required prior to start and updated annually
• Valid state RN license required prior to start

Additional Notes

• Locals within 60 miles may be accepted at a lower rate (not applicable here)
• Facility-specific modules and orientation must be completed prior to start
• Driver’s license required only if driving is an essential job function

This position is ideal for experienced MS/Tele Float RNs with prior travel experience looking for a 13-week travel contract in Maryland.
