Description
Job Opportunity: CVOR Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Position: CVOR Registered Nurse (RN)
- Schedule: 4x10 hour shifts, 0600-1630
- Weekend call required: 4 shifts per 6-week schedule
- Must be able to scrub in surgeries
- Open heart surgery experience required
- CVOR experience required
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Maryland
- Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience, including experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Ability to scrub in surgeries
Additional Requirements
- Ability to work weekend call shifts
- Must have experience with open heart surgery and CVOR procedures
- Must be able to scrub during surgeries
Compliance & Documentation
- Criminal background check within 90 days, including multi-state searches
- I-9 and E-Verify attestation required
- Valid driver's license if driving is an essential job function
- Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
- Immunizations and health documentation required:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year, updated annually)
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
- MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) documentation or titers
- Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
- Varicella documentation or titer
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
- N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start, updated annually
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start
Competency Requirements
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (score 80% or higher) within 3 years
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam with specific scoring requirements for cardiac specialties (updated annually)
References & Work History
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education and license information
Summary
This is a travel contract opportunity for a CVOR RN with at least 2 years of experience, including open heart surgery and CVOR experience. Weekend call shifts are required. First-time travelers are welcome. Required certifications include BLS and preferably ACLS. Compliance with background checks, immunizations, drug screening, and competency exams is mandatory.
