Job Opportunity: CVOR Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Position: CVOR Registered Nurse
• Schedule: 4x10 hour shifts, 0600-1630
• Weekend call required: 4 shifts per 6-week schedule
• Locals within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate
• First-time travelers accepted

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
• Minimum 2 years of CVOR nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Ability to scrub in surgery
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Requirements

• Must complete criminal background check within 90 days prior to start
• Must complete education verification and employment history (7 years, no gaps)
• Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
• Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
• Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform job duties without accommodations and free from communicable disease
• Immunizations and health documentation required:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year, updated annually)
  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
  • Documentation of MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) and varicella immunity or vaccination
  • Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
• N95 Fit Mask test within 9 months of start, updated annually (client may complete onsite if needed)

Competency and Certification Requirements

• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (must score 80% or higher) within 3 years of start
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam with specific scoring requirements (for cardiac specialties)
• Other certifications as required by unit description (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC) may apply but are not mandatory for this position

Notes

• Candidate must be able to complete facility-specific orientation modules prior to start
• Valid driver's license required if driving is an essential job function
• Background checks include federal, state, and county searches for all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
• Annual safety manual acknowledgement required
• Must be able to provide a clear photo for badge issuance
