Travel Registered Nurse (ER) - Texas (Big Spring Area)

Job Details

• Location: Big Spring, Texas (New hospital acquired, not San Angelo)
• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: Must start on 3/23; 3/30 start may be considered with approval
• Schedule: Facility may consider 36 or 48 hours per week
• Float: May be required to float to other Emergency Department areas

Required Experience

• Minimum 2+ years of Registered Nurse experience (specialty: ER)
• Prior travel experience required

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC accepted
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC accepted
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - Required for ER; ICU RNs have 1 year to obtain for longer assignments
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) - AHA or ARC accepted
• Other certifications as applicable: NRP, CHEMO, NIH Stroke Certification, EFM, and others may be required depending on assignment specifics

Required Licenses

• Valid Registered Nurse license for Texas
• NURSYS Verification required within 30 days of start

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Texas
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, with at least 1 year within the last year
• Completion of at least one travel assignment
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• TNCC certification
• PALS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross or ENPC
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing)
• Fit mask test within 6 months prior to start; annual updates required
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year; TB questionnaire annually
• Required vaccinations or positive titers for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer or series with declination form)
  • Varicella (chickenpox)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Flu seasonal vaccination or facility-specific declination (during flu season)
  • COVID initial series (boosters not required)
• Drug testing required within 30 days prior to start

Additional Requirements

• 2 professional references within 3 years
• Resume or employment application copy
• Skills checklist updated annually
• Completion of facility-specific documents and orientation forms prior to start (e.g., confidentiality, code of conduct, health record forms)
• Passport-style photo for badge

This position requires a Registered Nurse with ER specialty, prior travel experience, and all required certifications and licenses current and verified. The role involves working in a new hospital facility in the Big Spring area with potential floating within the Emergency Department.
