Description

Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (ER) - Indiana (Bloomington)

Position Details

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (ER)
  • Location: Bloomington, Indiana
  • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: 3x12 hour shifts
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • Float Requirement: Yes, may float to nearby sister facilities as needed (rarely)
  • Holiday Requirement: Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
  • Guaranteed Hours:
    • 8 and 10 hour shifts: 40 hours/week
    • 3 twelve-hour shifts: 36 hours/week
    • 4 twelve-hour shifts: 48 hours/week
  • Locals Accepted: No

Required Experience

  • Years of ER Experience: 2-3 years required for first-time travelers (hard stop)
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Required Certifications

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only, RQI acceptable
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only, RQI acceptable
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA only, RQI acceptable
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • NIHSS (NIH Stroke Certification)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - AHA NRP only
  • CHEMO (Chemotherapy) - as applicable

Required Licenses

  • Valid Registered Nurse license for Indiana
  • Online verification of license including expiration date and disciplinary actions (within 30 days before start)

Additional Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License or Passport (clear copy)
  • Background checks including:
    • 7-year history SSN Trace, County Criminal, Statewide, National Sex Offender, FACIS Level III
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM (within 30 days of start)
    • HHS/OIG (within 30 days of start)
  • Education verification and official transcript/diploma (may be pending at start)
  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
  • Unit Competency Exam
  • Color Blind Testing (Ishihara exam or equivalent, minimum 100%)
  • Physical Exam within 12 months of start
  • Fit Mask Test within 12 months of start (approved respirators only)
  • Negative 10 Panel Drug Screen within 12 months of start
  • Immunizations and Titers:
    • TB test (PPD, QuantiFERON-TB Gold, or T-SPOT) within 1 year
    • Rubeola (Measles): Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations accepted
    • Mumps: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations accepted
    • Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations accepted
    • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations accepted; history not accepted
    • Hepatitis B: Series, titer, or signed declination required
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap: Preferred but not required; strongly recommended
    • Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (9/30 - 3/31); declinations not accepted
  • References: Minimum 2 references from recent employment verified within 2 years; must be from charge, manager, supervisor, or above
  • Employment application with full work history and explanation of gaps over 30 days
  • Skills Checklist within 12 months of start, updated annually

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience
  • Emergency Department experience within the last year
  • ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • NIHSS certification
  • PALS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • TNCC certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
