Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Clinton, Maryland

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Float RN position covering ICU, Intermediate Medical Care (IMC), Emergency Department (ED), and Medical-Surgical units as needed.
• ICU experience is required.
• Schedule: 3 shifts of 12 hours each (1900-0730).
• Must be available for 6 weekend shifts (Saturday or Sunday) within the 6-week period.
• Experience with Medical-Surgical/Telemetry and Cardiac Telemetry units required.
• First-time travelers accepted.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Maryland.
• Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
• Experience in Intermediate Care.
• Experience in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry units.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.

Additional Requirements

• Float to ICU, ED, and Med Surg units as needed.
• Must complete various competency exams including medication/pharmacology and dysrhythmia/EKG competency.
• Background checks including criminal, education verification, and federal/state screenings required.
• Drug screening within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana).
• Immunizations and health documentation required:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray.
  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred.
  • Documentation of MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) and Varicella immunity or vaccination.
  • Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination.
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season.
• Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform job duties without accommodations and free from communicable disease.
• N95 fit test within 9 months of start and updated annually.
• Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years.
• Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education and license information.

Notes

• Locals within 60 miles may be considered at a different rate (not disclosed here).
• Orientation and facility-specific modules must be completed prior to start.
• Prior travel experience is not required for this position.
