Description

Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Tech

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

Shift: 8:00 AM or 8:30 AM, Monday through Friday (40 hours per week)
Caseload: Approximately 9 cases per day
On-Call: Yes, 0-4 assignments per month (more is elective)
Weekend Requirement: On call as needed
Floating: No floating within or to sister facilities
Block Schedule: Not accommodated
Locals Accepted: Yes, no radius restrictions
Pending State License Accepted: Yes
Return to Office Restrictions: No more than 5 days

Required Experience & Skills

Certifications & Licenses Required

Background & Compliance Requirements

Criminal background check within 1 year of start date (7-year standard search)
EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 1 year of start
Transcript or diploma verification as applicable
Minnesota DHS Net Study Fingerprint clearance required prior to start (no starts with fingerprints pending unless approved)
Physical exam within 12 months prior to start
Immunizations and health documents required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (adult Tdap required)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B (proof of immunity or vaccination series)
- Varicella (proof of immunity or vaccination)
- Seasonal Flu vaccination documentation (required for 2025-2026 season)
OSHA Respiratory Safety clearance required prior to start for fit testing

Trauma Level: Level III Trauma Center
Magnet and Teaching Facility
Scrubs provided by unit
Charting system: Excellian/Epic

Additional Notes

Background checks and compliance documents must be current and uploaded prior to start
Photo ID (passport style headshot) required within 48 hours of contract signing
Online pre-orientation modules must be completed within 72 hours of assignment start
Candidates must complete a medication/pharmacology competency exam
References are not required for client clearance but may be required for per diem roles
Drug testing is not required for client clearance but must be within 1 year if completed

Required Experience & Skills

Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Minnesota
Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
Experience in an inpatient setting
X-ray procedure experience including:
- Extremities
- Abdomen/GI
- Spine/Pelvis
- Head
- Chest/Thorax
- Lower Extremities
- Upper Extremities
Interventional Radiology procedure experience including:
- Stents
- Angioplasty
