Job Opportunity: MRI Tech
Location: Olympia, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 3x12 Weekend Nights (0730-0730)
Start Date: ASAP
Job Description
- Perform MRI procedures including setup, scanning, and processing.
- Communicate with radiologists, physicians, patients, and families.
- Perform contrast injections, quality control, and reporting tasks.
- Maintain day-to-day schedules and assist radiologists.
- Operate and maintain MRI and auxiliary equipment.
- Work with a Toshiba Vantage Titan 1.5T magnet.
- Follow ACR imaging and safety guidelines.
- Facility operates 24/7, providing care for inpatients and outpatients.
- Emphasis on MRI safety and quality image acquisition for excellent patient outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Valid MRI Technologist license in Washington.
- Minimum 1 year of MRI Technologist experience, including experience within the last year.
- ARRT certification in Radiography (R) and Magnetic Resonance (MR).
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years.
- Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests).
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO.
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- TDAP (within 10 years or declination accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual updates required)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season
- COVID vaccine or declination
- Respirator fit testing required for travel candidates (updated annually).
- References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years.
Training and Competency
- Completion of required WorkRamp modules including:
- Annual regulatory requirements
- Specialty-specific modules as applicable
- Basics of Trauma Informed Care (required at this facility)
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as applicable.
- Epic training modules may be required depending on assignment location.
Additional Notes
- All required documents and certifications must be current and uploaded prior to start.
- Floating to other nearby facilities may be required as part of the assignment.
- Candidates must comply with all state-specific background and registry checks as applicable.
This position offers a great opportunity for MRI Technologists with at least 1 year of experience looking for a travel contract in Washington state with weekend night shifts.
