Job Opportunity: Certified Surgical Tech (CST) / Technologist - Operating Room (OR) / Computed Tomography (CT)

Location: Tucson, Arizona
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

Seeking an immediate hire Certified Surgical First Assist (SFA) with prior cardiothoracic (CT) surgery experience, specifically vein harvesting.

  • Regular daytime shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
  • Standby call from 3:00 PM – 7:00 AM, typically staying ~3 nights a week until midnight or 1:00 AM to finish cases
  • Every third weekend standby call, with calls typically once or twice during the weekend

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year CVOR First Assist experience, with recent experience within the last 12 months
  • Certified Surgical First Assist (SFA) with NBSTSA certification
  • Vein harvesting experience
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
  • Flu vaccination required (medical and/or religious exemptions available)
  • Valid driver’s license to verify residency
  • Ability to start on the listed start date or within one week
  • Return to Office (RTO) cannot exceed 7 days and no RTO during the first week of assignment
  • Completed CT Surgical First Assist skills checklist within the last 12 months
  • Resume must include all facilities, departments worked, trauma level designation, and number of beds
  • Completion of required learning modules prior to assignment start

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior travel experience is highly preferred

Additional Information

  • Candidates must be flexible with locations, shifts, and departments to expedite offer process
  • Candidates should be pre-closed and ready to accept the assignment
  • Non-billable hours adjusted to reflect 16 hours per assignment
  • Assignments may be canceled with one full week’s notice without penalty

Shift Details

  • Day shift with standby call coverage
  • Includes weekend standby rotation

Notes

  • Arizona residents are not eligible for assignments in any Arizona facility
  • Strict adherence to background check standards is required
  • Flu vaccination status must be included in submission notes

This position requires a highly skilled Certified Surgical Tech with specialized CT surgery experience and flexibility for standby and weekend coverage.
