Description
Registered Nurse - ICU (Travel Contract)
Location: Austin, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
On-Call: No on-call required
Unit Overview
- Unit Type: Shock Trauma Intensive Care Unit (TICU)
- Number of Beds: 10
- Staffing:
- Day Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 5 RNs
- Night Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 5 RNs
- Patient Ratios: 1:2 or 1:1
- Equipment: GE Bedside Monitors, Alaris Pumps
- EMR System: Meditech
- Permanent Positions Available: Yes
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Minimum 1 year of Trauma ICU experience within the last year
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Job Responsibilities
- Perform and document patient assessments
- Create and revise plans of care
- Document patient outcomes and responses
- Administer and document medications
- Implement physician orders accurately
- Escalate patient issues efficiently and correctly

- External Ventricular Drains (EVDs) / Bolts
- Arterial Lines
- Central Lines
- Chest Tube Insertion
