Job Opportunity: Electrophysiology Tech

Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

This position is for a Procedural Radiologic Technologist specializing in Electrophysiology (EP) within a fast-paced EP lab environment. The technologist will assist electrophysiologists during non-invasive and invasive procedures, requiring knowledge of X-ray equipment, arrhythmia monitoring, cardiac anatomy, and sterile technique. The lab performs an average of 20 cases per day across 4 procedural labs.

Schedule

• Shift: 4x10 hour shifts (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
• No weekends required
• Every other holiday off
• Call: 2 weeknight calls per pay period (5:30 PM - 7:30 PM) and weekend call 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM for up to 4 weekends per assignment

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Electrophysiology Technician experience within the last year
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification

Certifications & Licenses

• ARRT certification required
• Ohio Radiologic State License required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required

Health & Compliance Requirements

• Physical exam within 2 years prior to start, indicating clearance to work
• Respirator fit test documentation within 1 year, renewed annually
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 6 months of start
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B
• Negative 9 or 10 panel urine drug screen within 90 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required
• Background check including 7-year history, criminal, sex offender, and sanctions screening

Additional Requirements

• Must be located more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify as a traveler
• Call responsibilities as noted above
• Completion of competency exams including medication/pharmacology and dysrhythmia/EKG exams as required
• Compliance with fingerprinting and other state-specific background checks as applicable

Work Environment

• Fast-paced electrophysiology lab
• High volume procedural setting with multiple labs and frequent cases
• Technologists scrub in on approximately 80% of cases
