Description

Registered Nurse (RN) - Intermediate Care

Location: Bloomington, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Overview

  • Care for patients with a wide range of medical conditions including COPD, CHF, Diabetes, sepsis, renal issues, DKA, alcohol withdrawal, overdoses, pneumonia, respiratory conditions, neuro/surgical/cardiac patients.
  • Experience with Bipap, Cpap, tracheostomies, chest tubes, NG tubes, PICC lines, central lines, ablation/cath lab patients, dialysis, and more.
  • Unit is a 32-bed inpatient acute care floor with all private rooms.
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio: 3-4 patients per nurse.

Work Schedule

  • Three 12-hour shifts per week.
  • Rotating nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Included in holiday and weekend rotation.

Floating and Assignments

  • Travel RNs float first.
  • May float to ICU if extensive ICU experience is present; otherwise, float to general medical floors.
  • Assignments vary by level of care (e.g., ICU: 2 patients, General Med: 5-6 patients).

Required Skills and Experience

  • Must be able to read telemetries.
  • Comfortable managing chest tubes.
  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.

Required Certifications and Licenses

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification.

Orientation and Training

  • One day with education team.
  • One day floor orientation.

Dress Code

  • Scrubs, any color.
