Registered Nurse - Flex Pool - Nights

Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Float between various medical and surgical units including Medical Unit, Surgical Acute Unit, and occasionally Cardiovascular Unit.
• Work 12-hour night shifts (18:45 to 07:15), scheduled 36 hours per week after orientation.
• No guaranteed hours.
• Use equipment such as Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, and chest tubes.

Unit Details

• Medical Unit: 77 beds, nurse-to-patient ratio 1:8 at night.
• Surgical Acute Unit: 18 beds, nurse-to-patient ratio 1:6.
• Cardiovascular Unit: 15 beds, nurse-to-patient ratio 1:4.
• Ratios may vary due to unexpected leaves.

Required Qualifications

• Active Hawaii RN license required by start of assignment.
• 2 to 10 years of nursing experience.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Preferred certifications: PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC.
• Medical and religious exemption requests for immunity documentation will not be accepted.

Orientation & Additional Information

• Orientation provided for each unit.
• Must arrive the Thursday before start date for employee health appointment on Friday.
• Professional nursing attire required (clean scrubs).

Schedule

• Night shifts, 12 hours each.
• Scheduled 36 hours per week following orientation.
