Location: Columbia, South Carolina

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking an MRI Technologist with at least 1 year of experience. This position involves working Friday through Sunday, 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM shifts.

Required Qualifications

• MRI Technologist with a minimum of 1 year of experience within the last year
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC only; RQI acceptable)
• ARRT MR certification
• Experience in both acute care and outpatient settings
• Proficient in head imaging (with and without contrast)
• Skilled in contrast media preparation and administration
• Experienced in starting peripheral IVs
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Clinical Skills

• Proficient in adult acute care and outpatient settings.
• Competent across all age groups (neonate through older adult).
• Imaging expertise in chest, abdomen, pelvis, head (with and without contrast), musculoskeletal trauma, and spine (cervical, thoracic, lumbar).
• Skilled in contrast media preparation/administration and starting peripheral IVs.
• Knowledge of isolation precautions.
• Experience with imaging equipment including GE, Philips, Siemens, Toshiba, and PACS.

Scheduling and Work Details

• Shift: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM.
• Floating required per policy; may float to other units/campuses based on census and qualifications.
• Facility allows calling off 1 shift per 2 weeks.
• Local candidates accepted within a specified radius.

Required Documentation and Compliance

• Background checks including 7-year history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and fingerprinting as applicable.
• Education verification with highest level of education required.
• Drug screening within 1 year, updated annually.
• Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet physical demands.
• Immunizations and health documents including:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (if applicable)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days
  • Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B documentation or exemptions
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption
• Compliance with facility-specific orientation modules and pre-assignment testing.
• Badge photo required following specific guidelines.

Additional Certifications (as applicable)

• ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, ENPC, EFM, CPI, MAB, NIH Stroke Certification, STABLE, and others depending on unit requirements.
• Certification cards must be current and cannot expire within 30 days of start date.
• Medication and pharmacology competency exams may be required.

Notes

• Facility is a regional community teaching medical center with Level I Adult and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center designations.
• Advanced specialty programs include cardiac care, stroke, and vascular services.
• Candidates must comply with all facility policies and complete required documentation prior to start.
• Online orientation modules must be completed within 72 hours of assignment.
• Candidates must have stable internet and computer access for testing; tablets and phones are not acceptable.
