Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – PCU

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Job Description

• Must be able to pass the telemetry test.
• Experience in monitoring telemetry patients preferred.
• 2 years of Registered Nurse experience required.
• Skills required include IV starts, general nursing skills such as IVs, monitoring, labs, medication administration, and patient education.
• EPIC electronic health record experience required.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU), with PCU experience within the last year.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• IV Certification.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system.

Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA provider or instructor accepted.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required depending on unit.
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required for certain units (ER, OB, Psych).
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) and EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) may be required depending on unit.
• NIH Stroke Certification may be required depending on unit assignment.
• Annual orientation safety manual acknowledgement.
• State license verification and NURSYS verification required.

Competencies

• Unit-specific competency exams required.
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required annually (minimum passing score 76%).
• Medication/pharmacology competency exam required prior to start.

Additional Requirements

• Must comply with dress code and hand hygiene policies.
• Must complete fraud, waste, and abuse training and compliance reporting forms.
• Fingerprinting and background check results must be clear prior to start; pending fingerprint attestations accepted under specific conditions.
• Candidates must be graduates of accredited nursing programs.
• Drug testing and immunization documentation must be current and uploaded as required.

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
• EPIC experience is mandatory.
• This position involves telemetry patient care; passing a telemetry test is required.
