Description
Physical Therapist (PT) - Travel Position
Location: Asheville, North Carolina (Services provided in Macon County, NC)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Information
- Setting: Home Health and Hospice care, patients seen in their personal homes or assisted living facilities
- Number of Beds: Approximately 70 patients served by multiple disciplines
- Staffing: About 25 staff members including PTs, PTAs, OTs, RNs, CNAs, and Social Workers
- Shift: Day shift, office hours 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Monday-Friday; nurse on call 24/7
- Patient Ratios: Approximately 6 visit equivalents per day
- EMR System: Cerner
Job Requirements
- Valid Physical Therapist license in North Carolina
- Physical Therapist with a minimum of 2 years of experience, including experience within the last year
- BLS certification
- Experience in a Home Health setting
- Assessment for Physical Therapist skills or training on hazardous drug risk management (USP 800)
Typical Duties
- Comprehensive assessments and evaluations
- Treatment and care planning
- Oversight of PTAs
- Patient population primarily geriatric, including post-acute treatment of total hip and knee arthroplasty (THA/TKA) patients, and patients with chronic illnesses and multiple comorbidities
Work Environment & Culture
- Friendly, easy-going personality preferred
- Comfortable visiting patients in their homes
- Acceptance and friendliness towards diverse patients and staff
- Dress code: Business casual, closed-toed shoes; scrubs not required
- Weekends: On-call or weekend work only as needed, not routine

- Floating to other areas is not required
- Unit policies and guidelines will be discussed during the interview process
