Job Opportunity: Cardiac Tele Registered Nurse (RN) - Nights

Location: Bel Air, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Start Date: April 6, 2026
Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, Nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
Schedule: Every other weekend required; holidays as scheduled

Job Description

• Provide nursing care for adult and geriatric telemetry patients with primary or secondary cardiac diagnoses, primary stroke/TIA, and stable cardiac catheterization patients.
• Monitor patients remotely using telemetry systems.
• Administer specialty drips including Cardizem (non-titratable), Amiodarone, Heparin, Protonix, and Lasix.
• Use specialized equipment such as portable phones, IV pumps, and feeding pumps.
• Floating within the specialty and to lower acuity units as needed.
• No pre-scheduled on-call, but may be called in rarely due to low census.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 1 year of telemetry nursing experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Patient Population

• Adults and geriatrics with cardiac and stroke-related conditions.

Additional Requirements

• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, education verification, and various federal/state screenings.
• Physical exam and health screenings including TB test, immunizations (Tdap, MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B), drug screening, and fit testing for masks.
• Compliance with facility-specific policies such as confidentiality agreements, dress code, and appearance standards.
• Completion of competency exams including medication/pharmacology, dysrhythmia/EKG, and age-specific competencies.
• References: Two professional references required, including at least one supervisor or charge nurse.
• Employment history verification for the past 5 years.
• Completion of required facility-specific documents and training prior to start.

Patient Care Environment

• Cardiac telemetry unit with remote monitoring capabilities.
• Specialty drips and cardiac medications administered.
• Floating to other units as needed within scope.

Notes

• Floating and holiday work are required.
• On-call is rare and not pre-scheduled.
• Prior travel experience is not required.

This position is ideal for RNs with cardiac telemetry experience seeking a travel contract with night shifts and a defined 13-week assignment.
