Job Opportunity: Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech

Location: Skokie, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Position: OR Tech
• Specialty focus on Orthopedics and Spine surgical services
• Must be highly proficient in orthopedics and spine procedures
• Preferably experienced with total joint robotics systems (e.g., Mako, Rosa, Cori)
• Floating may be required occasionally to support ortho-trauma surgeons at a nearby hospital
• Call Requirements: Weekday call and possible weekend call (approximately 8 calls in a 6-week period)
• Weekend and holiday coverage supported by dedicated call teams; facility is closed on weekends and holidays

Required Qualifications

• Valid Surgical Technologist license in Illinois
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
• Minimum 2 years of Surgical Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Additional Requirements

• Must complete standard background checks including 7-year history and nationwide sex offender search
• Required health documents and immunizations including:

  • Physical exam within 1 year
  • Fit mask test within 12 months (specific mask types required)
  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella vaccine series or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B titer or declination/booster
  • Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (declinations not accepted except medical/religious exemptions)
  • Drug screening (10 panel) within 30 days of start
  • Vision testing including Snellen and Ishihara color vision within 1 year
• Required competency exams and pass/fail testing as applicable
• Two professional references required

Notes

• The OR is exclusively ortho and spine cases; candidates should be strong in both or very strong in one and proficient in the other
• Weekend and holiday shifts are covered by call teams; candidate may be assigned call shifts on weekdays
• Floating to support ortho-trauma surgeons may be required occasionally
