Job Opportunity: ER Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Cottonwood, Arizona
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7 PM - 7 AM)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Floating: May be asked to float to a nearby emergency department (approximately 20 minutes away)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week (facility may call off up to 6 times during the 13-week assignment)
• First-time travelers: Accepted
• Locals: Accepted
• Blocked Scheduling: Considered by Unit Manager
• Return to Office Restrictions: Unit manager approval required
• On-Call: None

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Arizona
• Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, with ED experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Certifications required:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by American Heart Association

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background checks including 7-year history, SSN trace, criminal and sex offender searches within 30 days of start
• Drug testing: 10-panel within 30 days of start, updated annually
• Physical exam within 1 year, confirming ability to perform essential job functions
• Fit mask test (N95) within 1 year, updated annually (PAPR not an option except in rare cases)
• Immunizations and titers required or declination forms accepted for:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
  • Influenza (flu vaccine or declination form required for 2025-26 season)
  • COVID vaccine or declination form
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year, updated annually
• TB questionnaire required annually if past positive TB test
• Security and confidentiality agreements must be signed prior to start
• Professional references: Two required, one from most recent employer within 1 year
• Employment application with 3 years of work history and explanation of gaps greater than 30 days

• Medication administration standards and patient safety protocols must be followed
• Photo for badge required (clear headshot preferred)
• Professional attire and appearance policy must be reviewed and signed
• No on-call duties required for this position
