Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)

Location: Midland, Michigan
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 8 weeks

Job Description

• Assess the needs of each patient before and during surgical procedures, maintaining patient safety.
• Develop, implement, evaluate, and document individualized care plans during surgical procedures.
• Provide leadership to the OR team and supervise room activities.
• Anticipate and coordinate schedule changes, assemble equipment and supplies, assist anesthesia as needed, and monitor the sterile field.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, OR team, supervisors, and ancillary departments.
• Participate in staff development through preceptorship, continuing education, in-services, and meetings.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience.
• Open Heart surgical experience required.
• Prior travel work experience required.
• Active Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Completed skills checklist relevant to CVOR within the last year.
• Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years.
• Must be willing to work the specified start date and contract duration.
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility (local candidates will not be considered).

Additional Information

• This role involves day shifts in a cardiovascular operating room setting.
• The facility uses Epic EMR system.
• On-call responsibilities are part of the role.
