Respiratory Therapist - Nights

Location: Salida, Colorado
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work night shifts, 36 hours per week: Sunday-Tuesday nights with a 4th night rotation every other week
• Hours: 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM, including some call, weekends, and holidays
• Perform and collect diagnostic information including:

  • Pulmonary function testing
  • PAD Net
  • Sleep studies
  • Noninvasive and invasive diagnostic procedures
  • Blood gas and other laboratory analyses
• Accurately assess patients using physical exams and diagnostic data
• Provide respiratory therapeutics such as:

  • Medical gas therapy
  • Humidity therapy
  • Aerosol therapy
  • Artificial airway insertion, management, and care
  • Airway clearance
  • Mechanical ventilation (invasive and non-invasive)
• Assess patient reactions and results of therapeutic interventions promptly
• Participate in discharge planning and case management
• Engage in public education activities promoting cardiopulmonary wellness
• Attend mandatory safety in-services, department meetings, and manager-selected in-services

Required Qualifications

• Certification or registry from college or technical school in Respiratory Therapy
• Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician or Registered Respiratory Therapist
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Respiratory Therapy
• Current, active Respiratory Therapist license in Colorado
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications
