Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)

Preferred Certifications:

• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
• Minimum 1 year of Med Surgical experience within the last year
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Health & Compliance Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year, updated annually
• Fit mask test within 1 year (specific mask types required)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
• Immunizations or proof of immunity for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (declination allowed)
  • Varicella
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
• Negative 9-panel drug test within 30 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
• Background checks including 7-year history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
• Education verification (ADN or BSN required)
• Fingerprinting and Illinois Health Care Worker Registry (if no IL state license)

Additional Requirements

• Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start (approx. 2 hours)
• Skills checklist updated annually for assigned and float units
• Employment verification covering last 7 years
• Two professional references required
• Employment application including explanation of any gaps over 30 days

Notes

• Prior travel experience is not required for this position.
• Religious and medical exemption forms for COVID-19 and influenza vaccines must be submitted and approved at least one week prior to documentation due date.
• Candidates must be able to complete fingerprinting in Illinois (not allowed out of state).
• Floating to other units is required.
• Weekend work is every other weekend.

This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with at least 1 year of Med Surgical experience seeking a travel contract in Illinois with a 13-week assignment.
