Description

Registered Nurse - Med Surg (Cardiology)

Location: Birmingham, Alabama
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

Specialty: Cardiology / Medical-Surgical
Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (18:45 - 07:15)
Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Call Requirements: None
Patient Ratio: 1:6
Unit Beds: 30
EMR System: Cerner
Equipment: Standard acute care equipment

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alabama
Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience, including experience within the last year
BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Preferred Experience & Skills

Experience in Medical-Surgical nursing with Cardiology preferred
Acute care skills highly valued
Comfortable caring for pre- and post-heart catheterization patients, general cardiology cases (e.g., chest pain, hypertension), and med-surg patients

Additional Information

Float requirements: First to float within scope, including to nearby facilities within a 25-mile radius
Personality fit: Flexible, open to feedback, friendly, dependable
Dress code: Navy scrubs

This position offers the opportunity to work in a 30-bed unit focused on cardiology and medical-surgical care with a supportive team and a patient-centered environment.
