Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM (overnight)
• Schedule: Every other weekend required
• No call or float requirement
• Locals within 60 miles may be considered at a different rate

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in District of Columbia
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
• Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or ARC)

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Criminal background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
• Employment history verification with at least 2 years of experience in the past 7 years
• Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
• Complete 7 years of work history including education, employment, license, and contact information
• Drug screening within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
• Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
• Immunization and health documentation including:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (updated annually)
  • Tdap vaccine within last 10 years preferred
  • Documentation of MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) and varicella immunity or vaccination
  • Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season
• N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start, updated annually
• Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start

Certifications and Competencies

• BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) recommended to review
• Other certifications as required by unit or specialty (e.g., PALS, NRP) may apply depending on assignment
• Competency exams including medication/pharmacology and EKG/dysrhythmia testing may be required depending on unit

Additional Notes

• Valid driver's license required if driving is an essential job function
• Photo for badge required (clear, well-lit, solid background, no filters)
• Annual acknowledgment of safety manual and other facility-specific policies required
