Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM (overnight)
- Schedule: Every other weekend required
- No call or float requirement
- Locals within 60 miles may be considered at a different rate
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license in District of Columbia
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
- Respiratory Care Practitioner experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or ARC)
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Criminal background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- Employment history verification with at least 2 years of experience in the past 7 years
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
- Complete 7 years of work history including education, employment, license, and contact information
- Drug screening within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
- Immunization and health documentation including:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (updated annually)
- Tdap vaccine within last 10 years preferred
- Documentation of MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) and varicella immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season
- N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start, updated annually
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start
Certifications and Competencies
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) recommended to review
- Other certifications as required by unit or specialty (e.g., PALS, NRP) may apply depending on assignment
- Competency exams including medication/pharmacology and EKG/dysrhythmia testing may be required depending on unit
Additional Notes
- Valid driver's license required if driving is an essential job function
- Photo for badge required (clear, well-lit, solid background, no filters)
- Annual acknowledgment of safety manual and other facility-specific policies required
