Diagnostic Imaging Ultrasonographer - Contract
Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
Perform a variety of ultrasound procedures including:
- Abdomen (Aorta, IVC, Liver/Biliary, Pancreas, Spleen, Renal; normal and pathology)
- Gynecological (breast, ovaries, adnexa, uterus, pelvis; normal, pathology, post-menopausal, transvaginal, adult and pediatric)
- Obstetrics (1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimester; amniocentesis, complications, biophysical profile, gestational age, placental grading, abnormalities, IUGR, uterus/adnexa)
- Procedures such as aspirations, biopsies, drainage, and intraoperative support
- Neonatal (congenital anomalies, neonatal head)
- Superficial structures (abdominal wall, breast, focal masses, hematoma, scrotum & testes, thyroid)
- Vascular (carotid duplex, segmental pressure studies, upper and lower extremity venous and arterial duplex)
Equipment used includes Canon i700 ultrasound machines, Meditech EMR, and Fuji Synapse PACS.
May be required to float to other units or departments.
Shift: 40-hour workweek with on-call duties as appropriate.
Dress code: Personal scrubs or healthcare professional attire.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in an acute hospital setting.
- ARDMS certification in Abdomen (AB), Obstetrics (OB), and Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT).
- Active BLS certification (AHA certified).
Additional Information
- Must arrive the Thursday before the start date for an employee health appointment on Friday.
- Timely arrival is mandatory; do not accept the start date if unable to arrive on time.
