Diagnostic Imaging Ultrasonographer - Contract

Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Perform a variety of ultrasound procedures including:

    • Abdomen (Aorta, IVC, Liver/Biliary, Pancreas, Spleen, Renal; normal and pathology)
    • Gynecological (breast, ovaries, adnexa, uterus, pelvis; normal, pathology, post-menopausal, transvaginal, adult and pediatric)
    • Obstetrics (1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimester; amniocentesis, complications, biophysical profile, gestational age, placental grading, abnormalities, IUGR, uterus/adnexa)
    • Procedures such as aspirations, biopsies, drainage, and intraoperative support
    • Neonatal (congenital anomalies, neonatal head)
    • Superficial structures (abdominal wall, breast, focal masses, hematoma, scrotum & testes, thyroid)
    • Vascular (carotid duplex, segmental pressure studies, upper and lower extremity venous and arterial duplex)
  • Equipment used includes Canon i700 ultrasound machines, Meditech EMR, and Fuji Synapse PACS.

  • May be required to float to other units or departments.

  • Shift: 40-hour workweek with on-call duties as appropriate.

  • Dress code: Personal scrubs or healthcare professional attire.


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an acute hospital setting.
  • ARDMS certification in Abdomen (AB), Obstetrics (OB), and Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT).
  • Active BLS certification (AHA certified).

Additional Information

  • Must arrive the Thursday before the start date for an employee health appointment on Friday.
  • Timely arrival is mandatory; do not accept the start date if unable to arrive on time.
