Description
Job Opportunity: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (Night Shift)
Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Nights
- Hours: Option of 36 or 48 hours per week
- Unit: Medical-Surgical
- Float required
- Weekends as needed
- Patient Population: Stroke patients and surgery patients
- Telemetry central monitoring tech available 24/7 (no need to interpret dysrhythmias)
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico
- Minimum 1 year of Medical-Surgical nursing experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background check (7 years, updated annually)
- Education verification (highest level)
- Drug screening (10-panel, within 90 days)
- Physical exam within 12 months
- Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually
- Immunizations and titers:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
- Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination)
- Varicella (positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
- Fingerprinting required onsite during orientation (New Mexico placements only)
Additional Information
- Unit welcomes first-time travel nurses
- Scrub color: Any color, no logos
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests required as applicable
- Safety and orientation acknowledgements required
- References and work history verification required internally but not for candidate clearance
