Job Opportunity: Radiation Therapist

Location: Fremont, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks


Job Description

  • Base location in Fremont with possible floating to nearby locations.
  • Work every other weekend on-call at the main facility as needed.
  • Patient Age Groups: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics.
  • Treatment modalities include SRS, SBRT, IGRT, IMRT, Electron, and Conventional treatments.
  • Work setting experience: Adult Outpatient.
  • General skills: CBCT/kV/mV imaging.
  • Pre-treatment experience: CT Simulation, Tumor Localization, Custom molds, Custom shields.
  • Treatment Planning System: Eclipse (Varian).
  • Specialty treatment experience: Electron Field, Respiratory Gating/Breath Hold for Left Breast, Stereotactic Radiosurgery, Gynecomastia, Prophylactic Treatments, Benign Brain Tumors.
  • Specialty cancers/illnesses experience: Pancreatic cancer, Testicular cancer, Leukemia, Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, Graves Disease, Keloids, Prostate Cancer with Seeds/Fiducials, Kidney Cancer.
  • Linear Accelerator experience: Varian TrueBeam, Varian TrueBeam Edge, Varian Trilogy.
  • Documentation systems: ARIA, EPIC (required).

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Radiation Therapist.
  • Licenses/Certifications:
    • Ohio State Radiation Therapist license.
    • ARRT certification.
    • BLS certification.
  • First-time travelers accepted.
  • Scrubs color: Dark gray.
  • No local travelers within 50 miles.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Background checks including 7-year history, sex offender, international (if applicable), EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG.
  • Fingerprinting required for certain units; Ohio BCI and FBI fingerprint results must be current within 12 months.
  • Education verification required.
  • Physical exam within last 12 months (latex-free PPE available).
  • N95 Fit Test required within 12 months and updated annually (onsite exceptions possible).
  • Immunizations and health documents required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination accepted).
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (updated annually).
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or exemption.
    • Hepatitis B series or declination.
    • Varicella vaccination or exemption.
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption (required during flu season).
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months.
  • References: 2 professional references within 2 years, including at least one from a leader (Charge RN or above).
  • Skills checklist required for all candidates.
  • Radiation badge issued by facility (not the agency).

Additional Notes

  • Prior travel experience is not required.
  • Floating to other nearby locations may be required.
  • On-call every other weekend as needed.
  • Dress code requires dark gray scrubs.
