Job Opportunity: CVOR Registered Nurse

Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Circulating nurse position in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
• Scrubbing not required
• Float to other OR specialties required
• Call requirement: approximately 100 hours per 6 weeks, including 1 call weekend (Friday evening to Monday morning) every 6 weeks
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Shift options:

  • 8 and 10 hour shifts (40 hours/week)
  • 3 twelve-hour shifts (36 hours/week)
  • 4 twelve-hour shifts (48 hours/week)
• Special procedures involved: heart & lung transplants, aortic dissections, ECMO
• First-time travelers accepted if they have Level I Trauma experience
• Locals accepted

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Indiana
• Minimum 2 years of CVOR nursing experience, with CVOR experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Level I Trauma experience
• Experience with heart transplants, lung transplants, aortic dissections, and ECMO

• Average daily census: 70-80 patients

• Candidates must be prepared to complete multiple facility-specific documents and compliance checklists prior to start
• On-site PAPR available but must be approved prior to start
• Indiana RN travel restrictions apply but perioperative/OR RN travelers are exempt

Prior Travel Experience

• First-time travelers accepted if they have Level I Trauma experience
• No explicit requirement for prior travel experience
