Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) - Temp
Location: Kerrville, Texas
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with cognitive and/or physical functioning disorders under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
- Utilize evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions.
- Administer procedures including ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of supportive and assistive devices.
- Assess patient progress and communicate with supervising Occupational Therapist to adjust treatments accordingly.
- Report treatment outcomes and provide consultation to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers.
- Document all required clinical and regulatory information accurately in the electronic documentation system.
- Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, rehabilitation meetings, and required trainings.
- Support and supervise students under the guidance of the Occupational Therapist.
- Adhere to NBCOT, AOTA, and State practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license in Texas
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant within the last year
- Experience in Long Term Care (LTC) setting
- Experience in Rehabilitation setting
- Occupational Therapist Assistant experience
Additional Information
- Full-time hours at a single facility; no travel between buildings required.
- In-house therapy model focused on the value therapy brings to residents and the care team.
