Job Opportunity: Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel/Contract
Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Schedule: 4x10 hour shifts, Days
- Weekend Requirement: Weekday on-call once per week (1730-0700); Weekend on-call every 6th or 7th weekend covering Monday and Friday evenings (1730-0700) and 24-hour coverage Saturday and Sunday (0700-0700)
- Float Requirement: Must float per competency within the GI Suite
- Patient Age Group: Pediatrics and Adults
- Department Ratios:
- Pre-op: 1:2
- Intra-procedural: 1:1
- PACU: 1:2
- Able to function in Pre-op, Intra-procedural, and PACU settings
- Work Setting Skills Required: Pre/Post Procedure, starting and maintaining IVs, inpatient care
- Work Setting Skills Preferred: Outpatient Endoscopy center experience
- Scrubs: Employee may wear scrubs or street clothes and change into hospital laundry scrubs onsite
- Flu vaccine is required for all employees
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in District of Columbia
- Minimum 2 years of Endoscopy nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Certifications required:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
- SPT (Surgical Processing Technician)
- CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution)
- Experience in an inpatient setting
- Ability to float within GI Suite based on competency
Additional Requirements
- Criminal background check within 90 days of start, including all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- Drug screen within 90 days of start (does not include marijuana)
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year; annual TB questionnaire required
- Required immunizations or proof of immunity:
- Flu vaccine (or approved exemption) for current flu season
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccines or positive titers
- Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
- Varicella vaccine or positive titer
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
- N95 fit test within 9 months of start and updated annually
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education and license information
- Skills checklist and competency exams required prior to start and updated annually
Work Hours
- Pre-op: 0630-1700
- Intra-procedural: 0700-1730
- PACU: 0730-1800 or 0800-1830

- Must be able to work weekday and weekend on-call shifts as described
- Floating within the GI Suite is mandatory based on competency
- Facility requires strict adherence to immunization and health screening policies
- This is a travel/contract position with a 13-week assignment length
