Description
Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Technologist
Position Details
- Employment Type: Contractor
- Shift: 3pm - 11pm, Monday through Friday
- On-Call: Weekend on-call every 4-6 weekends; no weekday on-call required except 1-2 overnights weekly (5pm-7am) with a 30-minute response time
- Weekend Coverage: 1 full weekend (24/7) per month on call
- Holiday On-Call: Possible if no core staff coverage
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Patient and Work Environment
- Patient types include general, abdominal, vascular, small parts, refluxes, venous/arterial dopplers, and biopsies
- No cardiac imaging required (Echo tech covers this)
- OB/GYN imaging only for viability in ER patients
- Patient ratio: 1:1
- Work as part of a team during weekdays; solo and on-call during weekends
- Support available from lead ultrasound tech and supervisor
- Charting systems used: EPIC, Alaris, Pyxis
- Orientation: 1-3 shifts on unit depending on experience and comfort
- Scheduling: Weekend rotation varies; up to 7 days time off can be approved
- Scrub color: Any
- Parking: Free
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in ultrasound imaging
- Certifications required: ARMDS (vascular and abdominal), BLS
- Experience with the specified patient types is required
- First-time travelers are welcome
Preferred Skills and Equipment Experience
- Experience with equipment such as GE Logiq 7, GE Logiq 10, Siemens, Octavia, Parks flo-lab preferred
This position offers a structured weekday schedule with weekend on-call responsibilities and requires solid ultrasound imaging experience with vascular and abdominal specialties.
