Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - North Carolina (Winston Salem)

Job Details

• Target Ratios: 1:6 (normal staffing), up to 1:7 during high census or critical staffing
• Float Requirement: Floating required as needed
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend required
• Scheduling: Self-scheduling
• Unit Orientation: 24 hours
• Scrubs: Navy and/or white
• Patient Population: Medical-surgical patients (no cardiac telemetry patients)
• Unit Systems: Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR

Required Skills and Certifications

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• IV Start
• Telemetry skills
• BCLS certification
• EPIC experience required
• Unit accepts first-time travelers

Preferred Skills and Certifications

• ACLS
• NIH Stroke Certification

Additional Requirements

• Must pass EKG competency testing prior to start
• Floating and weekend shifts are mandatory
• 36 hours per week can be offered

Required Qualifications

• Med Surg / Telemetry experience (2 years), including experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Experience with EPIC
• Valid Registered Nurse license for North Carolina
• Background checks including local, federal, national criminal, sex offender, and education verification
• Physical exam within 1 year of start (or within 30 days if past positive TB)
• Fit testing for N95 mask or completion of PAPR training (if applicable)
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray per guidelines
• Drug screening within 30 days of start
• Required immunizations or titers: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (or facility-specific declination)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
• Completion of facility-specific orientation and compliance training modules
• Medication competency and color blindness testing as applicable
• References: 2 professional references within 3 years (for travel and acute care)

Important Notes

• No Return to Origin (RTO) after booking allowed; call-offs or additional RTO may result in cancellation
• Navy and/or white scrubs required
• Must complete all required background checks and verifications prior to start
• Self-scheduling model allows some flexibility in shift selection
• Floating to other units may be required based on staffing needs

This position is suitable for RNs with at least 2 years of experience, including those new to travel nursing. Night shift, floating, and weekend work are required. EPIC experience and telemetry skills are essential.
