Job Opportunity: Certified Surgical Tech (CVOR)
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking a Certified Surgical Tech with cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) experience. This role involves scrub duties with a focus on cardiac and vascular surgical procedures. First-time travelers and local candidates are welcome.
Shift Details
- Evenings: 2 shifts of 8 hours and 2 shifts of 12 hours (approx. 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM and 10:30 AM - 11:00 PM)
- Call required
- Weekend rotation
- Flexibility to work anytime between 6:30 AM and 11:00 PM
Required Experience
- Minimum 5 years total experience as a Certified Surgical Tech (CST)
- At least 2 years experience in cardiac and vascular surgery
- Minimum 1 year experience in a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
- At least 1 year experience in a Level I Trauma facility
- Experience with cardiovascular/thoracic instrument reprocessing
Required Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
Required Skills and Competencies
- Scrub experience required
- Proficient in general OR, thoracic, vascular, and CVOR procedures (e.g., CABG, EVAR, TEVAR, valve replacement)
- Aseptic technique
- Crash cart management, scrub and circulate duties
- Equipment documentation
- Familiarity with EPIC charting system
Required Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist experience
- Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Technologist experience with at least 1 year within the last year
- Vascular Technologist experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience with cardiovascular/thoracic instrument reprocessing
Additional Requirements
- Completion of orientation safety manual acknowledgment annually
- Compliance with dress code and hand hygiene policies
- Fraud, waste, and abuse training certificate required prior to start and updated annually
- Employment application and skills checklist required
- Two professional references required (at least one from a manager or formal leader)
Notes
- Prior travel experience is not required; first-time travelers are accepted.
- Parking options are available but not included here due to privacy rules.
- Candidates must be flexible with shift times and weekend rotations.
This position is ideal for experienced Certified Surgical Techs with strong cardiovascular OR backgrounds seeking a travel contract opportunity in Ohio.
