Job Opportunity: CVOR Registered Nurse

Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work shifts: 2 eight-hour shifts and 2 twelve-hour shifts per 4-week schedule
• Evening shifts run approximately 10:30 PM to 11:00 PM or 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM
• Flexibility with shifts is required
• Call requirements:

  • RN’s take 30-40 hours of call per 4-week period
  • Evening shift requires weekend call (~24 hours per 4 weeks)
  • Night shift requires minimal weekend call
• Preference for evening or night shifts for upcoming assignments

Requirements/Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of CVOR experience within the last year
• Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
• Experience in an Acute Care setting
• Proficiency with Epic charting system
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification or competency

Licensure

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Ohio

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including FBI and BCI fingerprinting (Ohio-specific codes apply)
• Monthly monitoring through workforce monitoring systems
• Education accreditation verification from an accredited nursing program (CCNE, ACEN, or NLN CNEA)
• High school diploma or GED verification (if applicable)
• Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (no pending results allowed)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
• Immunizations and health documentation required:

  • Tdap vaccine (adult dose)
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
  • TB questionnaire
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B titer or vaccine series (declination acceptable)
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer (medical exemptions reviewed)
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31)
• Annual acknowledgment of dress code, hand hygiene, ethics, and compliance policies
• Fraud, Waste, and Abuse training certificate required prior to start and updated annually

References and Documentation

• Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager or formal leadership role
• Employment application and skills checklist required

Additional Notes

• Fingerprinting results must be obtained prior to start; new fingerprinting required if there is a break in service of 90+ days or results are older than 1 year
• Candidates must be prepared to complete all required competency exams and certifications as outlined
• Call and shift flexibility is important for this role
