Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology
Location: Winston Salem, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work schedule: First shift with call, staggered start time between 7:00 AM and 8:30 AM, 4x10 hour shifts Monday through Friday.
- Day off will vary each week (not the same day off each week).
- Call requirement includes weekends and evenings/nights on a primary and backup on-call rotation.
- No float requirement.
- Patient population primarily adults and geriatrics, with some adolescents.
- Required skills include neuro (including stroke intervention) and body procedures.
- Daily case load: 13-17 cases.
- Equipment experience required: Siemens and Phillips x-ray equipment; Acuson preferred.
- Hospital orientation during week one; attendance at daily classes required.
- Scrubs provided.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in North Carolina
- Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
- Completion of at least one travel assignment
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
- Experience in an inpatient setting
- Neuro experience including stroke intervention
- Experience with PACS and contrast usage
- Proficient in interventional radiology procedures including stents, angioplasty, angiograms, kyphoplasty, peripheral procedures, and biopsies
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Background check within 6 months for clinical candidates.
- Drug testing (9 panel) within 6 months of start.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start; additional documentation required if past positive TB.
- Required health immunizations and titers including Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella.
- Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season.
- Physical exam and references as per travel agency standards.
- Radiation badge required for interventional radiology roles.
- Completion of hospital-specific orientation and compliance training modules.
- Photo for badge required immediately after signing contract (passport style, white background, business attire).
- Various facility-specific agreements and acknowledgments required prior to start.
Additional Notes
- No Return to Office (RTO) allowed after booking; call-offs or additional RTO may result in cancellation.
- Candidates must be available for interview within 72 hours of submission.
- Medication test/pharmacology competency and color blindness testing required.
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for certain specialties (may apply).
- Candidates must complete all required education and compliance modules prior to or during orientation.
This position is ideal for experienced Interventional Radiology professionals with prior travel experience seeking a challenging and dynamic hospital environment with a diverse patient population.
