Description

Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
Patient Ratios: 1:4 to 1:5
Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per month
Holiday rotation: Yes
Floating: May be required to float within scope to meet unit needs
Unit Type: Medical Surgical unit with adult patients, including medical and some surgical cases
First-time travelers accepted
Locals may be considered on a case-by-case basis

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in South Carolina
Minimum 1 year of Medical-Surgical nursing experience within the last year
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Information

Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June-November), especially August and September
Facility uses EPIC for charting
Dress code: Solid royal blue or white top with royal blue bottoms for RNs
Parking permits required (details provided upon hire)
Orientation includes completion of online modules prior to start; failure to complete may result in being sent home
Badge photo required before start date (passport-style, business casual attire)

Candidates must submit all required documentation at time of application, including licensure, certifications, background checks, and health records
Compliance with all facility-specific policies and procedures is mandatory
Candidates with any licensure issues or background hits must be approved by the facility before assignment
