Description
Travel Registered Nurse - Step Down Unit
Location: Dayton, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Targeted patient ratios: 1:4 (can be up to 1:5-6)
- Shift options: 36 or 48 hours (OT paid after 48 hours)
- Must have EPIC experience
- Must pass an online EKG telemetry competency assessment before starting
- Experience with stable chronic ventilators required
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Certification (IV Start preferred)
- Minimum 1.5 years nursing experience; some level 1 or 2 experience preferred
- Prior travel experience preferred (not required)
- Floating required: may float within specialty clusters or to medically appropriate assignments; must be available to float to nearby campuses (within 15 miles)
- Must be available to work every other weekend and holidays
- Employer reserves the right to cancel shifts or contract with notice
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Minimum 1.5 years of Stepdown nursing experience, with Stepdown experience within the last year
- ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience with EPIC electronic health record system
Additional Information
- Floating assignments may include multiple nearby campuses
- Travelers are not eligible for employee incentives
- Documentation such as I-9, government-issued photo ID, and E-Verify required prior to start
- Fingerprinting not required unless working in specific units (NICU, Pediatrics, Home Care, Hospice, Pain Management)
- Must complete medication/pharmacology competency exam within 2 years
- Color blindness testing required only for lab units
- CPI certification required if assigned to Emergency Department
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgement required
Summary
This is a 13-week travel contract for a Registered Nurse in a Step Down unit in Dayton, Ohio. The role requires EPIC experience, competency in EKG telemetry, and experience with stable chronic ventilators.
