Description

Travel Registered Nurse - ER/Med Surg

Location: Arlington, Minnesota
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Registered Nurse needed with primary Emergency Department (ED) experience; will also work Med/Surg units.
  • Critical Access facility setting.
  • Shift: Primarily night shifts, 12-hour shifts (day/night flexibility).
  • Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend.
  • Charting system: Epic.
  • Charge nurse experience required.
  • First-time travelers NOT accepted; experienced travel nurses only.

Required Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in ED/Med Surg.
  • Preferred: At least 5 years of ER experience.

Required Certifications

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • Oncology Certification (ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification)
  • ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Minnesota
  • Med Surg experience: minimum 2 years, with experience within the last year
  • Emergency Department (ED) experience
  • One completed travel assignment
  • ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • PALS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • TNCC certification
  • ENPC certification
  • Oncology Certification including ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification
  • National Tech Certification Verification
  • State License 1 Verification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Experience in charge nurse roles

Additional Requirements

  • Professional references: 2 for travel/allied/per diem acute care roles (within 2 years).
  • Skills checklist required annually.
  • Must be willing to work in a critical access hospital environment.
  • Cannot take every holiday off; maximum 1 week of requested time off (RTO) allowed.
  • Any call-outs require more than 24 hours' notice.
  • Locals are not accepted for this travel position.

Notes

  • This position requires experienced travel nurses with prior travel assignments.
  • The facility highly recommends influenza and COVID vaccinations.
  • Candidates must complete facility-specific orientation materials prior to start.
  • Compliance with all state and facility-specific health and background screening policies is mandatory.

This role is ideal for an experienced ER/Med Surg RN looking for a travel assignment in a critical access hospital setting with a focus on emergency nursing skills and charge nurse responsibilities.
