Job Opportunity: Mammography Tech

Location: Edwards, Colorado
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days (4x10 schedule)
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
Start Date: April 6, 2026


Position Summary

Perform breast imaging procedures including mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, breast ultrasound, and assist with breast ultrasound biopsy. Follow MQSA and ACR guidelines for breast imaging to ensure quality and safety.


Essential Job Functions

  • Demonstrate knowledge of breast anatomy, pathological conditions, and safe radiation administration.
  • Review patient requisitions for consistency with clinical diagnosis and demographic information.
  • Operate mammography and stereotactic equipment, perform examinations, and follow protocols including sterile techniques and contrast agent use.
  • Conduct and document quality control to ensure equipment safety per MQSA and ACR guidelines.
  • Communicate and educate patients before, during, and after procedures to support breast health and continuity of care.
  • Review and perform breast imaging exams for technical accuracy and present results to radiologists.
  • Schedule breast imaging appointments and assist in coordinating exams to maintain quality patient care.
  • Assist with department workflow management and ensure proper patient charge documentation.
  • Organize and monitor medical supply inventory to ensure cost-effective spending.
  • Participate in breast health education and promotional events.
  • Assist in orientation of new employees and healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain 24 CEU credits every two years per A.R.R.T. guidelines and current CPR certification.
  • Adhere to HIPAA compliance and promote a Just Culture and organizational values.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience preferred; healthcare experience preferred.
  • License: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification with Mammography (M) required.
  • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
  • Computer Skills: Ability to complete online learning, access forms, and complete benefits enrollment.
  • Language: Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking).

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Exposure to radiation, toxic chemicals, biological hazards, heat, noise, dust, and stress.
  • Physical activity includes sitting (20%), standing (40%), walking (20%), squatting (5%), bending (5%), twisting (5%), and lifting up to 35 lbs occasionally.
  • Patient populations served include adolescents, young adults, adults, middle-aged, and geriatric patients.

  • Must maintain licensure and certifications as required.
  • Ability to work independently and under stress while meeting deadlines.
  • This position involves direct patient care and requires punctuality and reliability.
