Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology
Location: Greenville, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift Details
- Schedule: 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
- One night of call per week
- Every seventh weekend on call
- Floating required to other units or campuses as needed (limited to qualified areas with documented competencies)
Job Description
- Work setting: Interventional Radiology and Special Procedures
- Must have experience in IR and Special Procedures
- Medication system used: Omnicell
- Documentation system: EPIC (minimum 1 year of EPIC experience required)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in South Carolina
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist
- ARRT (Radiologic Technologist) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- Experience with EPIC documentation system
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Proof of identity and eligibility to work (I9, Driver’s License/State ID)
- Background checks including 7-year history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and others as required
- Education verification (highest level required)
- Drug screening within 1 year and updated annually
- Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet physical demands
- Immunizations and health documents including:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (if working in high-risk areas)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days of start
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B documentation or declination
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption (not required for remote workers)
- Respirator fit test to be completed onsite during orientation
Certifications and Training
- Must have current certifications that do not expire within 30 days of start:
- BLS and ACLS (AHA or ARC only)
- Other certifications as applicable (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC, ENPC, CPI, MAB) depending on unit requirements
- Medication and pharmacology competency exams required annually
- Pass/fail testing for medication and arrhythmia exams (for RNs and certain tech roles)
- HIPAA and safety training acknowledgment required annually
- Core training modules (Parts I, II, III) including universal precautions, cultural diversity, pain management, OSHA, and patient safety goals
Additional Notes
- Floating policy must be signed and renewed annually
- Badge photo required prior to start (passport-style, plain background)
- Online orientation modules must be completed within 72 hours of assignment
- Testing and modules take approximately 12-16 hours to complete before start
- Candidates must be prepared for timely completion of all required testing and documentation
This position offers a structured schedule with a focus on interventional radiology procedures, requiring specific certifications and compliance with detailed health and background documentation. Floating to other qualified units is expected as part of the role.
