Job Description

Seeking a Clinical Instructor Cardiac Sonographer with experience in both pediatric and adult echocardiography. This role involves education partnerships, onboarding, competency validation, and quality improvement initiatives. Ideal for a sonographer interested in leadership and teaching growth.

Shift: 5 days per week, 8-hour day shifts
Floating: Required to float to other nearby facilities

Key Responsibilities

• Perform and be independently proficient in:

  • Transthoracic Echocardiography (TTE)
  • Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE)
  • Congenital heart disease imaging
  • Adult and pediatric acute care echocardiography
  • Structural heart imaging including TAVR and Mitral Clip procedures
  • Structural/interventional guidance scans
  • Stress echocardiography
  • Hemodynamic and Doppler assessment

• Provide clinical education, precepting, and mentoring to staff and students

• Lead or charge sonographer duties

• Support competency validation and quality improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Adult Echocardiography experience, including experience within the last year
• Pediatric Echocardiography experience
• Experience working with both Pediatric and Adult patients
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Independent proficiency in Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE)
• Experience with structural heart imaging, including TAVR and Mitral Clip procedures
• Experience performing structural/interventional guidance scans
• Lead or charge sonographer experience
• Experience mentoring and training students

Certifications & Compliance Requirements

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Other certifications may be required based on unit/profession

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask test within 12 months of start (specific mask types required)
• Tdap vaccine within 10 years
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days of start
• Required immunizations or positive titers for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer required)
  • Varicella
• Drug screening (10 panel) within 30 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (declinations not accepted except medical/religious exemptions)
• Vision testing including Snellen and Ishihara color vision within 1 year of start

Additional Requirements

• Must complete background checks including SS trace, county searches, nationwide sex offender check
• Must complete competency exams and pass required tests (e.g., medication, dysrhythmia/EKG competency)
• Required to complete facility-specific documentation and confidentiality agreements
• Two professional references required

Experience

• Pediatric and adult echocardiography experience required
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
