Job Opportunity: Surgical Technologist
Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana
Employment Type: Contract Clinician
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Assist vascular surgeons during various vascular procedures including carotids, open leg bypasses, endoluminal stent grafts, TCARS, angiograms, and percutaneous leg stenting/procedures.
- Work in both OR and hybrid room settings (hybrid room uses Phillips system).
- May float to general, orthopedic, or neuro units as needed.
- Schedule includes 3 twelve-hour shifts per week.
- On-call approximately every 4th weekend and 1-2 weeknights per week.
- Unit consists of 4 CVOR rooms and 1 hybrid room.
- Hospital provides surgical scrubs as dress code.
- Orientation includes a 2-week preceptor period followed by independent performance; hospital-specific orientation required.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
- 1-2 years of vascular surgery experience required (use the higher value: 2 years).
- Must be able to perform in both OR and hybrid room settings.
- BLS certification (AHA only).
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required; TS-C or grandfathered certifications are NOT accepted.
- Call is required.
- Prior travel experience is preferred but not mandatory.

- Candidates should be prepared for call responsibilities as outlined.
- Facility requires strict adherence to certification requirements.
- Time off requests should be communicated in advance.
