Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Tech
Location: San Angelo, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Perform Nuclear Medicine stress tests
- Busy location with approximately 15-16 patients per day
- Experience in cardiology preferred
- Start date preferred within the next 3-5 weeks (flexible)
- Must have Texas license in hand
Required Qualifications
- Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in Texas
- Minimum of 1 year of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience within the last year
Certifications (as applicable)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
- CHEMO (Chemotherapy)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
- NIH Stroke Certification (if applicable)
- Other certifications may be required based on job duties
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background check (7-year, including statewide, counties, federal, national, education verification, and international if applicable)
- E-Verify or attestation
- Social Security card
- Government-issued photo ID
- I-9 or attestation
- Education verification or diploma
- State license verification and NURSYS verification (if applicable)
- Pass/Fail testing during orientation (includes medication administration, restraint, glucometer tests)
- Photo for badge (passport-style, solid background)
- Various facility-specific forms including health record, code of conduct, confidentiality, information system security, orientation, and vaccine exemption forms
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit mask test within 6 months prior to start (annual updates required)
- Immunizations and titers (must be current or have acceptable documentation):
- TDAP (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) within 10 years
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year) and TB questionnaire annually
- Rubeola (Measles) - positive titer or 2 vaccines
- Mumps - positive titer or 2 vaccines
- Rubella - positive titer or 2 vaccines
- Hepatitis B - positive titer or series with declination form if applicable
- Varicella - positive titer, 2 vaccines, or proof of disease
- Drug testing within 30 days of start (includes multiple substances)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or facility-specific declination form during flu season
- Initial COVID vaccination series required (boosters not required)
Additional Notes
- Legal name must match on all license documentation, IDs, social security card, and certifications; proof of name change alone is not sufficient
- Orientation and competency exams required and must be passed
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
