Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - ER

Location: Weston, Florida
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse with Emergency Room (ER) specialty for a travel contract position. First-time travelers are accepted. The role requires flexibility to float within scope as needed and weekend shifts on an as-needed basis.


Requirements/Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Schedule & Hours

  • Guaranteed hours: 36 hours for 3x12-hour shifts or 40 hours for 8/10-hour shifts
  • No on-call requirement
  • Block scheduling not accommodated
  • Locals accepted at same rate

Licensure

  • Active Registered Nurse license in Florida required (pending licenses not accepted)

Additional Requirements

  • Must be nicotine-free (smoke-free facility)
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen required within 1 year of start
  • Physical exam within 6 months of start
  • Immunizations and health screenings required:
    • TB test or chest X-ray (updated annually)
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
    • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
    • Varicella (2 vaccines, titer, or history of chickenpox)
    • Seasonal flu vaccination (or approved medical/religious exemption)
    • COVID-19 vaccination series or approved exemption
  • Background checks including 7-year criminal history and federal exclusions
  • Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start
  • Pass/fail testing on EKG and medication/pharmacology during orientation
  • Completion of online training modules prior to start (including HIPAA)
  • 2 professional references within 2 years required

Important Notes

  • All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront; late requests may not be approved
  • Candidates must carry government-issued photo ID during hours of service
  • Candidates must prioritize time-sensitive Epic modules immediately upon assignment confirmation
  • Facility is smoke-free and requires nicotine testing
  • Fingerprint clearance must be on file prior to start; candidates cannot begin work with fingerprints pending
  • Orientation and onboarding modules must be completed on a computer using Google Chrome; cannot be completed on a phone
